If you see a point, first wipe the screen gently with a soft cloth — dust or a smudge will wipe away. A point that stays after cleaning may be a dead or stuck pixel.

Show a solid color across the whole screen and look closely for any point that does not match. On a full black screen, a stuck pixel shows up as a dot that stays lit (white, red, green or blue). On a full white screen, a dead pixel shows up as a dark or black dot. Cycling through red, green and blue as well helps you spot a single subpixel that is stuck or dead. Press "Start full-screen test" to run black, white, red, green, blue and gray in order.
Sometimes. A stuck pixel (a subpixel stuck lit on one color) can occasionally be revived by rapidly cycling colors on that spot, and gently massaging the area is another commonly suggested trick — but results vary and there is no guarantee. A true dead pixel (one that stays black/off) is usually a hardware fault that software cannot fix. If it will not clear, consider the manufacturer's repair or replacement options (this tool does not repair anything).
There is no single answer — the threshold is set by each manufacturer and product, not by a universal rule. International standards for pixel defects exist (such as ISO 9241-307), but which policy a maker adopts is up to them, and stuck (bright) pixels and dead (dark) pixels are sometimes counted differently. Check the warranty terms for your specific product, and test right after unboxing so you can report any issue as an early defect.

For a short check it is normally fine, but OLED panels are more prone to burn-in (image retention) when the same still image is shown for a very long time. As a general precaution, avoid leaving a solid color or grid on screen for long, and finish the test promptly once you are done.
